The Diploma of Beauty Therapy training allows our students to enter any area of beauty therapy with many students managing or operating their own salon / spa or working closely with medical practitioners

Graduates can also choose to sit an exam for international accreditation with the External LinkInternational Therapy Examination Council (ITEC).

Course Duration

Full Time Classes

  • 12 Months
  • 3 Days per week (9:00am - 4:30pm)
  • Plus 1 Day home study
  • Work experience in student clinic

Part Time Classes

  • 18 months
  • 3 Days per week (Mon, Tues & Thurs - 5:30pm - 8.30pm)
  • Plus 1 Day home study
  • Work experience in student clinic

International Students

  • 104 weeks
  • 3 Days per week (9:00am - 4:30pm)
  • Plus 1 Day home study
  • Work experience in student clinic

Methods of Assessment

Assessment is undertaken on a continuous basis throughout the enrolment period and may include a combination of the following methods:
  • Practical Demonstrations
  • Oral questions / explanations
  • Role play
  • Theory
  • Treatment plans / Case studies
  • Assignments

Career Choices

Salon Beauty Therapist

Gain valued knowledge and experience doing hands on practical work in all aspects of beauty therapy, such as facials, waxing, body massage etc.

Salon Manager

Similar to a Salon Beauty Therapist, but in a senior role and being involved with more of the operations of the business, including managing people, stock, money etc.

Salon Owner

Day Spa Therapist

Day spas are an every growing industry, where clients come for holistic treatments, including Visy shower, body treatments, herbal baths etc.

Para-Medical Aesthetician (with further training)

Working as a support for cosmetic surgeons.

Cruise Ship Spa Therapist

Gain valued knowledge and experience doing hands on practical work in all aspects of beauty therapy, such as facials, waxing, body massage etc. Also seeing the world at the same time on board luxurious cruise ships.

Cruise Ship Spa Manager

Product Representative

Representing prestigious cosmetic companies, this often involves national & oversees travel.

Product Educator

Training staff and representing prestigious cosmetic companies, this again often involves national & oversees travel.

Under-graduate Educator

Training and helping people to achieve a trade in beauty therapy.

Recognition of Prior Learning

We can upgrade your qualification by assessing your current skills and abilities.

To achieve this, you need to provide sufficient documentary evidence to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills required to be achieved in the Unit of Competency. Practical assessments may be required.

Educators Qualifications

All our Beauty Therapy trainers have Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace training.


Course Requirements

  • Senior First Aid certificate is organised by the college or done externally
  • Attendance of product knowledge seminars as organised by the college

Work Experience

Experience is one thing salons often find lacking when students leave college. Fuss students gain essential practical skills and work experience in our Student Salon so they are well prepared and enter the workforce with confidence.
