ABOUT FUSS BEAUTY COLLEGE
Established in 1982, Fuss Beauty College is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) providing quality Diploma, Certificate and Short Course training for many local and international students looking to learn about the beauty industry.
Our courses prepare students for professional careers as beauty therapists in Nail Technology, Facials, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Laser Treatments for Hair Removal & Skin Treatments, massage and waxing.
We strive to offer our students the latest in training and technology to prepare them for a constantly growing and expanding industry.
Advanced level students of the college gain substantive real-world experience at our Student Salon which give them a genuine lead in career building experience.
Our college is based in Edgecliff, close to the CBD of Sydney, public transport, shopping centres, beautiful beaches and tourist attractions.
Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
A Registered Training Organisation is defined as a training organisation registered by a registering body in accordance with the AQTF, within a defined scope of registration. In NSW, this accrediting body is VETAB.All training organisations that issue Australian Qualifications Framework qualifications and statements of attainment must be registered by a State or Territory recognition authority. The Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board (VETAB) is the recognition authority for NSW, and it grants registration for up to five years.

The Australian Qualifications Framework policy defines all qualifications recognised nationally in post-compulsory education and training within Australia. The AQF comprises titles and guidelines which define each qualification, together with principles and protocols covering cross-sectoral qualification linkages and issuance of qualifications and statements of attainment.
CRICOS is the official government register of all providers and programs available to overseas students studying in Australia on a student visa. To offer a program to onshore international students, the institution must be registered on CRICOS. Fuss Beauty Colllege is registered with CRICOS under the following provider number 02725B.
The Department of Education and Training aims to provide all New South Wales students with lifelong training and employment opportunities. It is also responsible for planning the long term development of the State's training system to meet the current and future needs of industry, the community and regional areas.
Member Organisations
Fuss Beauty College is a member of the following industry organisations:The Australian Council for Private Education and Training is the national industry association for independent providers of post-compulsory education and training, for Australian and international students. The aim of ACPET is to enhance the diversity of education and training throughout Australia via independent enterprise and so provide a choice of product and outcome for consumers.
The APAA is the oldest and most active Association in the Beauty Industy in Australiasetting the standards for Professional Beauty Therapy in Australia for the past 50 years. The APAA is recognised for its commitment to education and raising the standards within its membership so that the public can be assured they are in the hands of competent professionals.
The APAA has formed a new membership classification which will give beauty therapists the support of a professional association, professional recognition within the industry and the public, the latest information on legislation changes, advice on how to further educate and have a voice.
The APFA is the only body designed to serve the best interests of the Nail Industry. The APFA has set up guidelines for private training institutions in nail technology to be assured that the standards of technical and professional skills are being taught and achieved by all students.
ITEC is the largest international examination board offering a variety of qualifications worldwide. ITEC qualifications are supported by industry and are easily transportable nationally and internationally. ITEC has ensured that best practice in the work place has been reflected in the syllabus for each qualification and each has been linked to the relevant job role, as well as ensuring that the syllabus reflects the required level of knowledge and skill needed for a practicing therapist.
